The annual Income Tax Return (ITR) reporting period has arrived. The deadline for reporting Individual Income Tax Return (IITR) is no later than 3 months after the end of the fiscal year. Meanwhile, the deadline for reporting Corporate Income Tax Return (CITR) is no later than 4 months after the end of the fiscal year. One of the facilities for reporting ITR provided by the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) is through E-Filing. To report tax return document via E-Filing, an EFIN (Electronic Filing Identification Number) is required. EFIN is an identity number issued by the DGT to Taxpayers who file a tax return document through E-Filing and generate a tax payment billing code.
The question is, what to do if Taxpayers forget their EFIN? Here are several ways to recover it.
1. Send email to the Tax Office
Taxpayers can submit an application to Tax Office’s official e-mail. completed with PORO (Proof of Record Ownership). PORO is a Taxpayer data confirmation process to ensure that the person calling or making an application via email is the Taxpayer/administrator of the individual or corporate concerned. PORO aims to maintain the confidentiality and prevent misuse of Taxpayers’ data. The requirements that must be submitted are:
- Scan of EFIN application form, tick the reprint application type. The form can be downloaded on the www.pajak.go.id/id/formulir-permohonan-EFIN page. Make sure the phone number and email written on the form are active;
- Photo identification, namely Identity Card for Indonesian citizens and Residence Permit Card for foreigners;
- Photo of Certificate of Registration or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN);
- Selfie holding ID card and TIN card;
The officer will check the data using DGT database, if it is all cleared the officer will send an EFIN notification in PDF form via email.
2. Call Tax Office
Taxpayers can make calls directly to Tax Office to recover EFIN. The official phone number of Tax Office where you are registered can be seen here. It should be noted, one phone call/WhatsApp from a Taxpayer is limited only for one EFIN recovery request to prevent misuse of the Taxpayer's EFIN code. To ensure that the caller is the Taxpayer concerned, the officer will verify and require PORO.
3. Send Message via Direct Message (DM)
Taxpayers can also send Direct Messages (DM) to registered Tax Office’s social media accounts. It can be through Tax Office’s official Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram where PORO is also needed. Later, after sending DM on Tax Office’s social media, Taxpayers will be provided with the information regarding services needed, requirements, and what to do to recover the EFIN.
4. Contact “Kring Pajak”
EFIN recovery services can be obtained via telephone line 1500200, Twitter, @kring_pajak, and live chat on www.pajak.go.id. Before contacting, Taxpayer must prepare several data in the form of TIN, registered name, address, mobile phone number, and email. For Twitter, Taxpayer only need to mention once for EFIN recovery service and check for replies on the next working day. While for telephone and live chat services, it can be accessed from Monday - Friday at 08.00 to 16.00 WIB.
Those are ways for Taxpayers to recover the EFIN.
